The method

Neither conventional nor alternative. The intelligent fusion of both.

The Cero Dolor Method integrates three disciplines in a single clinical protocol to address chronic pain from the body, the nervous system and the person’s emotional experience.

Why an integral method

The conventional and the alternative, on their own, tend to fall short.

Chronic pain is not just an alarm signal that persists: it involves the body, the nervous system and the person’s emotional experience. That’s why drug-centered medicine and alternative therapies, each on their own, tend to fall short. The Cero Dolor Method integrates both views in a single protocol, clinically governed and backed by the Laboratorio del Dolor.

The three disciplines

One protocol, three views that reinforce each other.

Medicine

Reduced reliance on drugs and metabolic modulation of pain, always with clinical judgment.

Non-conventional physiotherapy

Work on muscle chains, fascia and postural re-education.

Pain psychology

Cognitive behavioral therapy, emotional management and heart–brain coherence.

Treatment is organized into a 72-hour cycle and 13 sessions that integrate the three disciplines. Nationally it takes 5 to 7 weeks; in UNIDOL Global, 7 intensive days.

Frequently asked questions

About the method

What is the Cero Dolor Method?

It is an interdisciplinary clinical method for chronic pain that integrates medicine, non-conventional physiotherapy and pain psychology, with no drugs as its axis. It has 10 years of documented clinical practice, and its flagship unit is at Clínica Sharón in Ibagué.

How is it different from conventional pain treatment?

Unlike the drug-centered approach, it addresses the body, the nervous system and emotion at the same time, aiming to reduce reliance on medication. It is neither conventional nor alternative medicine: it integrates both in a single clinical process.

How many sessions does it have, and how long does the treatment take?

The method is organized in a 72-hour cycle with 13 sessions. Nationally, the process usually takes 5 to 7 weeks; with UNIDOL Global it is concentrated into 7 intensive days for patients coming from abroad.

What pain is it for, and how do I know if it is right for me?

It is for people with chronic pain, and each case is assessed individually to decide whether the method is appropriate. The national initial assessment is free; international patients have a virtual assessment that guides the plan before traveling.

Can I stop taking my pain medication?

The goal is to reduce reliance on drugs, but any change is decided by the clinical team, never on your own. It is done with medical judgment and gradually; results are documented and reported, and, due to legal restrictions and to comply with Colombian and international law, we do not promise a cure or efficacy figures.

What does the treatment include?

It includes the method's 13 sessions, the Cero Dolor App, follow-up via tele-monitoring, and a Kit with Smärtgel, a topical gel with INVIMA registration NSOC98496-20CO. The Kit PRO is also available. The method has 10 years of documented clinical practice.
